For many in difficult financial circumstances, having access to a legal aid service when a marriage breaks down or when the family is abandoned or when there is violence, abuse can enable women; some of them can also be men but they’re generally women, social service can enable those persons to take control of their lives lessening the stress, lessening the fear from violence and uncertainty and generally helping to improve their bargaining positions.”Ms John further explained that the Legal Aid Clinic‘s aim is to provide quality legal service to the public at an affordable rate.In related news, Former Attorney General of Dominica Mr Henry Dyer says while the legal profession has always has been a noble one, which the public depends on. “The legal Profession has always been a noble profession and over the years we have come under serious attack somehow sometimes justifiably. but I think we need to understand and look at ourselves and realize that it is in fact a noble profession and it is in fact a profession that the public relies on.”Mr Dyer further told his comrades in the legal fraternity that it is their responsibility to uphold the supreme law of the land which is the constitution.“I believe that we as lawyers have a responsibility to uphold the constitution and when we see people trying to infringe the Constitution we should be quick to say ‘Oh, oh no.
