This KFC Bath Bomb Will Have You Smelling Like Fried Chicken
Let us know what you like about Geek by taking our survey. KFC Japan has some very, shall we say, unique approaches to promoting its food in Japan, with some pretty strange things on offer to get people to eat there. We’re talking entire bento box lunches, anime goodies, and lots more. But perhaps the latest promotion takes the cake, or shall we say feathers?KFC Japan has joined forces with the wacky store Village Vanguard, the same crazy one that always has some bizarre novelty items up for sale, and the result of this unholy union is the KFC bath bomb, which is meant to make your bubble bath smell like delicious fried chicken. Or disgusting, probably more along the lines of chicken soup or bouillon cube for something of that nature.#秘伝のコンビパック 発売記念フォロー&リツイートで毎日100名様に当たる#KFCのアノ香り が漂う「チキンの香り?の入浴剤」を参加者全員に、本物のアノ香りを楽しめる特別クーポンも！11/15〆https://t.co/2tdtyL3UXu pic.twitter.com/wvZp85DG73— ケンタッキーフライドチキン (@KFC_jp) November 1, 2017The bomb itself looks just like a chicken drumstick, and it smells like one too. It’s pretty cute, if you fancy yourself a gigantic piece of chicken that needs to baste in a bath tub full of chicken liquid or something to that effect. But you can’t just go to any KFC in Japan or Village Vanguard to get one. You’ve got to be chosen as part of a special lottery of 100 people to receive one each day from November 1 through November 15. If you want to enter, you’ve got to follow the KFC Japan account and tweet special hashtags to be considered. If you end up winning one, you’ll get your bath bomb in a red and white KFC box, and even if you don’t win one of the bombs, you’ll get a special coupon to pick up a Secret Combination Pack of chicken for 550 yen instead of 750 yen. And with December rolling around for Japanese KFC fans, that’s a discount, especially since it’s the busiest month of the year for the chain in Japan. But do you really want to smell like chicken? To each their own, I suppose.
