first_img Posted: November 19, 2018 Categories: Local San Diego News FacebookTwitter KUSI Newsroom Arrests made in brutal attack near Petco Park SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A man was attacked Sunday by a group of teenagers near Petco Park and police said he wasn’t expected to survive.The attack happened about 2:10 p.m. near the pedestrian bridge adjacent to Petco Park, San Diego police Lt. Matt Dobbs said.Police and paramedics responded to the scene. The victim was unresponsive near the bridge, Dobbs said.The victim has been identified as 56 year-old Edward Leon Starland. Starland remains on life-support in a local hospital according to Dobbs.Investigators learned the man got into an argument with a group of teenagers and was knocked to the ground. Some of the juveniles beat the man — said to be in his 40s — while he was on the ground, according to Dobbs.When witnesses started yelling at the teens to stop, they fled east on Imperial Avenue. Police detained several teens in the area, but don’t yet know if they were involved in the attack, the lieutenant said.Police say one man and three teenage girls were detained and later booked into either County Jail or Juvenile Hall for felony battery.Police identified the man as 18 year-old Dominick Wells.Anyone with information on these suspects was asked to call the SDPD homicide unit at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. center_img November 19, 2018 KUSI Newsroom, Updated: 10:50 AMlast_img
