With India experimenting with various players in the slip cordon during the home season, Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara on Wednesday said the team will finally zero in on a settled unit during their overseas tours, starting with the visit to South Africa later this month.Despite winning the three-match series against Sri Lanka 1-0, India dropped quite a few catches, thanks to the rotation of various players in the crucial slip positions.”We are having a chat about it (slip catchers), we will assign few players, will have players standing at the slips,” the Saurashtra batsman told reporters at the post-match press conference here.”We will even discuss about it when we reach South Africa, we have started talking about it. We might have to pin down only a few players as specialist catchers,” Pujara added. The 29-year-old, who has scored 4396 runs in Test cricket at an average of 48.13, was satisfied with his performance over the past year. However, he was quick to assert that there is always room for improvement and he will look to work on it in the upcoming series.”Talking about 2017, it has been a fantastic year, I still could have done better at times I feel that, there is always a scope for improvement,” Pujara said.”There are still some areas in which I want to improve.”WELL PREPARED”I think we (India) will be very well prepared before heading to South Africa,” the Saurashtra batsman told reporters during the post-match press conference.”We are already talking about the things that we want before heading to South Africa, some of the guys have enough time to prepare for the tour. We have enough experience being in South Africa, that will help us.advertisement’ONUS ON PACERS'”The fast bowling unit has been much better now and I think our fast bowlers will do the damage,” Pujara added.India have picked five fast bowlers — Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and preferred Jasprit Bumrah over chinaman Kuldeep Yadav for the tour. The 29-year-old also heaped praise on spin duo Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja saying they can put any opposition under pressure.”I won’t say they are just spinners, if you look at their wickets they have done a remarkable job. They are the most difficult bowlers for any opposition to face,” Pujara added.
If you are in the market for buying a smartphone and camera performance is your primary criteria, then a visit to DxOMarks website is obviously a necessity. After all, the company published performance scores of various smartphones through a series of thorough tests, involving both photography and videos. However, if you wanted to figure out the performance of the front camera, you had to rely on product reviews. There was nothing to compare them scientifically. DxOMark pondered over the issue and has now come with a solution.DxOMark has officially announced its first list of all smartphones that participated in its first selfie performance test. The list begins with a choice of 12 smartphones spanning across various price categories. As expected, the top flagship smartphones of 2018 from Apple, Google and Samsung are present on top of the list. However, the test elected two smartphones as the best one that can be used to snap the best selfies – Google’s Pixel 3 and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9.The Google Pixel 3 dominates the selfie camera chart with an overall score of 92. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 also sits alongside the Pixel 3 with a selfie score of 92. This feels weird as both the smartphones take a substantially different approach to selfies. The Pixel 3 sports a dual front camera setup with a secondary wide-angle sensor. The Note 9 makes do with a single selfie camera. DxOMark states that the Pixel 3’s camera dominated with extremely detailed selfies while Note 9 goes for a cleaner selfie approach.Following the Note 9 and Pixel 3, Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 3 came in at third place with a score of 84 while the Apple iPhone XS Max came in at fourth with a score of 82. The DxOMark leader for rear camera performance – Huawei Mate 20 Pro, only score 75, which is lesser than the older Google Pixel 2’s score of 77. The Intex Aqua Selfie rounds up the list at the last spot with a score of 22.advertisementThe DxOMark selfie test takes into consideration several factors such as skin tones, details, colour accuracy, sharpness and other parameters. “DxOMark Selfie is based on the same procedures and methodologies as DxOMark Mobile, but we have made some important modifications to reflect the way front cameras are used,” states the company on its website. Scores were deducted for any artificial enhancement that these cameras did for selfies in the test. However, the DxOmark scores shouldn’t solely be the deciding factor while purchasing a selfie-oriented smartphone. DxOMark’s test looks for the best photo quality via scientific measures. However, most consumers prefer artificially enhanced treatment for selfies and therefore, may find the DxOMark’s chart leader not satisfying their needs.ALSO READ | Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s camera is as good as P20 Pro’s, claims DxOMarkALSO READ | DxOMark doesn’t believe Pixel 3 is phone with the best camera in 2018, but you can safely ignore DxOALSO READ | Samsung Galaxy Note 9 review: A Note worth taking

It’s this love of the world as a whole that drives Cotopaxi to invest in it. And this investment takes of the form of quality-made, stylish equipment, that also ensures quality of life for Cotopaxi employees. Their goods help you, the consumer, to get out and connect with the world–even the people who made your bag. Most, if not all, Cotopaxi products are made elsewhere in the world, despite being a Delaware Public Benefit Company (PBC)–and that’s deliberate. As a PBC, Cotopaxi is designated, rather uniquely, as a for-profit company that “…is intended to produce public benefits and to operate in a responsible and sustainable manner.” The founders clearly take this mandate to heart. They wanted find ways to truly help solve major global problems like healthcare, education, and economic growth. They found one way to do this is to invigorate foreign communities by bringing in Cotopaxi opportunities. It’s a very deliberate, well-researched decision to outsource. The company will only use factories that have been audited for health and safety and that have also agreed to health and safety concessions. But Cotopaxi takes it a step further. Not only does Cotopaxi personally inspect any proposed factory, but it also hires local journalists to interview employees to get the real skinny on working conditions. This is done partly to ensure their products are ethically made and are actually benefiting communities. But, a lot of it has to do with wanting to forge real, positive relationships with their employees.Take their Luzon Del Día daypack. The factory behind these brightly colored, repurposed nylon backpacks is located in, you guessed it, Luzon, the largest island in the Philippines. The bag itself is already awesome: it’s easy to pack, the straps are breathable mesh, and there’s an internal hydration sleeve. But that’s not what makes it amazing. What does make it amazing is that each employee of the Luzon factory has complete color design control over the bags he or she makes. Not only does this freedom make your bag truly one-of-a-kind, but it forms a connection between you and the person who created it–you know, that whole interconnectivity thing. Plus, it means that these employees are given the freedom to be creative craftsman rather than just sewing-machine drones. Written By: Geoff Millar, Owner – Ultimate All-Inclusive Travel Inc. This month we will continue our tour of the Fiesta Americana Resorts. We are going to look at the up-scale Grand Fiesta Americana Resorts. There are 3 Grand Fiesta American Resorts located in Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Los Cabos. The two in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta are All-Inclusive while the Grand Fiesta American Coral Beach is an EP plan Resort. These resorts are a step up in the quality level from the Fiesta Americana Resorts. They are all 4 & 5 star resorts. We will start with the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach located in Cancun. As stated, this resort is not an all-inclusive resort. It is located in a great area of the Cancun hotel strip, right at the elbow of the 7 very close to the shopping and nightlife of Cancun. It is also located on a very swimmable beach. This is a great AAA 5 Diamond resort and the grounds are beautiful. I do have to say that this is the first resort in Mexico, I have seen, that is now charging a $25 per room per night resort fee. As far as accommodations at the resort the standard rooms are all Jr. Suites and are either Ocean View or Ocean Front. They do have their concierge level which they call their “Grand Club”. All rooms come with either a king bed or 2 double beds. As far as their suite level rooms they have what they call “unlimited experience”. This entitles the guests to 3 meals in select restaurants, a selection of alcoholic drinks, private section on the beach, 1 six course dinner, free access to the kid’s club, butler service, included items in the minibar, free round trip ferry ticket to Isla Mujeres, free transportation to the 2 upscale malls in Cancun, and one ½ hour jet ski rental. Other than the Presidential Suite all the Suite level rooms are expanded Jr. Suites and are Ocean Front. The Presidential Suite has 2 bedrooms. Dining at this resort offers a wide variety of choices. The choice are Mexican, Seafood, a buffet, Italian (This restaurant is rated 5 Diamonds), Casual savory snacks and sandwiches. There are 3 bars, the sunrise pool and swim-up bar, the lobby bar, a casual beach bar, and the Bikini serving drinks and small snacks. Remember that this is not an all-inclusive resort and food and drinks are not included unless you are staying in an “Unlimited Experience” level room. Activities include a Kid’s Club, a fantastic 40,000 sq. ft. spa, a beautiful swimmable beach, a very large lagoon style pool, a variety of water sports are available at an additional cost. There is a daily activities list that changes on a regular basis providing a variety of activities as well as nightly entertainment. You are also within walking distance of shopping and the top Cancun nightclubs. This resort is a great resort for families and couples looking for an upscale non-all inclusive experience in the heart of the Cancun hotel strip with great accommodations, dining and activities. Next, we will look at the Grand Fiesta Americana in Puerto Vallarta. This great adult only all-inclusive resort is located in the area between downtown Puerto Vallarta and the Mismaloya area just South of Puerto Vallarta in what is known as the Romantic area. It sits on a beautiful beach with a rock reef just offshore. It is close to the downtown area of Puerto Vallarta and sits just in front of the beautiful Sierra Madre Mountain range. Just south of this area is where the movie Predator and Night of the Iguana, as well as other movies were filmed. Accommodations consist of all Ocean Front Rooms & Suites. Standard rooms at this resort are all Jr. Suites which come with one king bed or two double beds. At the Suite level all suites other than the Governors and Presidential Suite all other Suites are enlarged Jr. Suites. The Master Suites, Governors Suite, and Presidential Suites have separate bedrooms as well as larger balconies. Dining offers a variety of choices. It starts with a fantastic buffet and then goes to Mexican, French, Seafood, Oriental, A deli serving sweet and savory fare, Italian, and a grill with grilled items. As far as bars there is the sky bar with its fantastic views, a martini bar, a tequila bar, a pool bar, and a beach bar. Activities include a fantastic spa, a huge free form pool, a beautiful beach, and activities throughout the day including nightly entertainment. There is a DJ at the Skybar until the wee hours of the morning. The included watersports are not as prevalent as they are on the East coast of Mexico and the Riviera Maya. You are just a short distance from downtown Puerto Vallarta with its charm, shopping, and nightlife. There are a ton of very interesting off-site tours including the movie locations and one of my favorites, Sayulita, an eclectic surf town about 1 hour north of Puerto Vallarta. This resort is ideal for adults and couples who are looking for an upscale relaxing vacation. It may not be ideal for clients who are looking for a very active resort. Most activities take place utilizing off-site tours. The last resort we are going to look at this month is the Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos All-Inclusive Golf & Spa Resort. This beautiful smaller resort, 249 rooms, sits in the Cabo Del Sol area of the corridor between Cabo san Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo. It sits on a beautiful beach but, unfortunately, like many of the beaches in the Los Cabos area, it is not swimmable. There is access to the two beautiful golf courses in the Cabo Del Sol area and Golf Club. This hotel is number 10 of Golf Digest’s top 50 Golf Hotels in the world. It is a short drive into Cabo San Lucas. Accommodations at this resort consist of Standard rooms with one king bed or two double beds. These are either Ocean View or Ocean front. Suites are made up of Villa Master Suites, Grand Master Suite, Governor Suite and Presidential Suite. All Suites come with a separate bedroom and the Villa Suite has its own kitchen. The resort has a Villa category which includes a one bedroom King Master Villa and 2, 3, & 4 bedroom villas. The villas contain dining rooms and kitchens. Dining includes Mexican, Seafood, Italian, Mediterranean, a grilled serving grilled items, a great buffet, and a coffee shop serving a wide variety of specialty coffees as well as sweet and savory snacks. Also, don’t forget that the Villa category accommodations come with full kitchens. Activities are made up of, of course, golf, at an additional cost, a fantastic wineSpa that uses wine in its treatments, a full kid’s club, a Gym, daily activities including nighttime entertainment. And a great pool. It has a very nice beach, but it is not swimmable. Watersports are limited to the pool area because of the rough and unswimmable ocean conditions. There are great fishing, snorkeling and other water activities included in a variety of off-site tours. This resort is great for families, especially extended or generational family groups. It is also perfect for that golfing client. As well as the two golf courses close to the resort, Cabo has total of 10 championship golf courses. Well that is it for another month. Until next month, Safe travels and good selling.

London: Britain’s Prince Harry on Thursday settled for “substantial damages” and an apology from a news agency that hovered over his home in a helicopter, taking photos directly into his living room and bedroom earlier this year. Lawyers for the Duke of Sussex told the UK High Court that the photographs showed the Oxfordshire home’s interior and “very seriously undermined” his safety. The images, which were taken in January and published in UK newspapers and online, showed the living area, dining area and “directly into the bedroom”. The news agency Splash News admitted an “error in judgment” and apologised to the 34-year-old royal. “We apologise to the Duke and Duchess for the distress we have caused,” it said in a statement. The agency has promised to “cease and desist from selling, issuing, publishing or making available the photographs. It also said it will not repeat its conduct by using any aerial means to take photographs or film footage of the Duke’s private home, which would infringe privacy or data rights or otherwise be unlawful activity. Buckingham Palace said Prince Harry “acknowledges and welcomes the formal apology from Splash News and Picture Agency”. Members of the New York-based team, which is looking into the mandate, troop levels and concept of operation of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), began work this morning at the mission’s headquarters in Nicosia, spokesman Stephane Dujarric said. The team also plans to meet with representatives of the two sides in the course of the week. The team is led by Wolfgang Weisbrod Weber, of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations, and includes representatives from the Department of Political Affairs, the UN Civilian Police Office and the Military Adviser’s Office. UNFICYP was set up in 1964 to prevent further fighting between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities. After the hostilities of 1974, the mission’s responsibilities were expanded. The Force remains on the island to supervise ceasefire lines, maintain a buffer zone and undertake humanitarian activities. In April, Greek Cypriot voters rejected a plan that would have created a United Cyprus Republic, composed of a Greek Cypriot constituent state and a Turkish Cypriot constituent state linked by federal government. Although endorsed by Turkish Cypriot voters, the plan could not be adopted without acceptance on both sides. In a subsequent report to the Security Council, Secretary-General Kofi Annan said this watershed event would prompt a comprehensive review of UNFICYP.
FILE – In this June 5, 2015, file photo, the Homeland Security Department headquarters in northwest Washington. The Obama administration says hackers stole Social Security numbers from more than 21 million people and took other sensitive information when government computer systems were compromised. The number affected by the breach is higher than the 14 million figure that investigators gave The Associated Press in June. (AP Photo/Susan Walsh, File) WASHINGTON – Hackers stole Social Security numbers, health histories and other highly sensitive data from more than 21 million people, the Obama administration said Thursday, acknowledging that the breach of U.S. government computer systems was far more severe than previously disclosed. The scope of the data breach — believed to be the biggest in U.S. history — has grown dramatically since the government first disclosed earlier this year that hackers had gotten into the Office of Personnel Management’s personnel database and stolen records for about 4.2 million people. Since then, the Obama administration has acknowledged a second, related breach of the systems housing private data that individuals submit during background investigations to obtain security clearances. That second attack affected more than 19 million people who applied for clearances, as well as nearly 2 million of their spouses, housemates and others who never applied for security clearances, the administration said. Among the data the hackers stole: criminal, financial, health, employment and residency histories, as well as information about their families and acquaintances. The new revelations drew indignation from members of Congress who have said the administration has not done enough to protect personal data in their systems, as well as calls for OPM Director Katherine Archuleta and her top deputies to resign. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz, a Utah Republican, said Archuleta and her aides had “consciously ignored the warnings and failed to correct these weaknesses.”“Such incompetence is inexcusable,” Chaffetz said in a statement.House Republican leaders — Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Whip Steve Scalise — also called for Archuleta’s resignation. Boehner said President Barack Obama must “take a strong stand against incompetence.”Some Democrats weighed in against Archuleta as well. Virginia Sen. Mark Warner said, “It is time for her to step down, and I strongly urge the administration to choose new management with proven abilities to address a crisis of this magnitude with an appropriate sense of urgency and accountability.”Yet Archuleta insisted she would not step down. “I am committed to the work that I am doing,” she said in a conference call with reporters. The White House, which had previously said Obama was confident in Archuleta’s leadership, said there was no change in its position.Archuleta said the hackers also obtained user names and passwords that prospective employees used to fill out their background investigation forms, as well as the contents of interviews conducted as part of those investigations. Yet the government insisted there were no indications that the hackers have used the data they stole.Still, the government declined to say who was behind the attack.Numerous U.S. lawmakers, including Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, have said China was behind the attack. But Michael Daniel, Obama’s cybersecurity co-ordinator, said the government wasn’t yet ready to say who was responsible.“Just because we’re not doing public attribution does not mean that we’re not taking steps to deal with the matter,” Daniel told reporters. While officials would not point the finger at China, they acknowledged that the same party was responsible for both of the breaches, which took place in 2014 and early 2015. Investigators previously told The Associated Press that the U.S. government was increasingly confident that China’s government, and not criminal hackers, was responsible for the extraordinary theft of personal information.China has publicly denied involvement in the break-in.The administration said it has stepped up its cybersecurity efforts by proposing new legislation, urging private industry to share more information about attacks and examining how the government conducts sensitive background investigations.“Each and every one of us at OPM is committed to protecting the safety and the security of the info that is placed in our trust,” Archuleta said. In early June, government employees received notice that OPM would offer credit-monitoring services and identity-theft insurance to those affected.Meanwhile, the White House waited about a month before telling the public that hackers had stolen the personal information of millions of people associated with the government, people directly involved with the investigation told the AP last month.FBI Director James Comey, in a briefing with reporters Thursday, described the scope of the OPM breach as “huge” and called it “a very big deal from a national-security perspective and a counterintelligence perspective.”“It’s a treasure trove of information about everybody who has worked for, tried to work for, or works for the United States government,” he said.___Associated Press writers Eric Tucker and Ted Bridis contributed to this report.___Follow Jack Gillum on Twitter at https://twitter.com/jackgillum and Josh Lederman at https://twitter.com/joshledermanAP by Jack Gillum And Josh Lederman, The Associated Press Posted Jul 9, 2015 1:56 pm MDT Last Updated Jul 9, 2015 at 7:27 pm MDT AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to TwitterTwitterShare to FacebookFacebookShare to RedditRedditShare to 電子郵件Email US: More than 21 million affected by government data breach; Social Security numbers taken
“Far more effort and resources should be devoted worldwide to protect people from the negative health impacts of toxic pollution,” said Baskut Tuncak, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights and hazardous substances and wastes.Mr. Tuncak’s call comes as the WHO’s governing body, the World Health Assembly, is meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.“WHO can play a much larger, more active role in preventing adverse health effects from pollution,” he said. “A tiny fraction of WHO’s proposed budget for the next two years is for environmental health, despite clear evidence of large-scale harm today and the likelihood of increased harm in the coming years.” According to a press release, issued by his office, “an estimated 13 million deaths per year and about one quarter of global burden of disease, namely, the impact of health problems, are caused by environmental determinants of health such as pollution of air, water, land and others. Pollution is the leading cause of death in low- and middle-income countries and poor women and children who live and work in the world’s most polluted environments are most affected.”The Special Rapporteur reminded WHO member States that “nearly all countries have a legal obligation to realize the right of children to the highest attainable standard of health,” saying that environmental pollution has a disproportionate effect on children and the future generations.“Despite increasing risk of negative health impacts from pollution, and global calls for increased resources, only 2.5 per cent of WHO’s proposed program budget for 2016-2017 is dedicated to ‘Health and Environment’ sub-category,” he said. “The amount of work WHO dedicates to monitoring and preventing harm from toxic pollution is disproportionately low, given the impacts of pollution on human rights.”UN human rights experts are part of what it is known as the Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council, the general name of the independent fact-finding and monitoring mechanisms that address either specific country situations or thematic issues in all parts of the world. The experts work on a voluntary basis; they are not UN staff and do not receive a salary for their work.
There have been a few rumors swirling around lately as to when and how Apple would bring some of its device production to the US. Now new details have appeared hinting at what the company has planned. It is thought that Apple’s long-time manufacturing partner Foxconn is set to establish manufacturing facilities in the US next year. After that, production will commence of a specific Apple device that will then carry the “Made in USA” tag on the bottom. It was widely believed that first device would be the Mac Pro, but apparently it will be the Mac mini %displayPrice% at %seller% instead. If that’s the case, then sales of the mini are expected to reach 1.8 million units in 2013, meaning the potential for quite a large operation on US soil if Apple moves production over completely.Nothing has been confirmed yet, but Foxconn is expected to start recruiting for the new manufacturing facilities early next year. As soon as that happens, Apple will surely release details about what it intends to do. Manufacturing products in the US is certainly something the company will want to boast about, and if it creates lots of new jobs I can’t see anyone complaining about it.The move could also have a positive knock-on effect with other companies deciding to do the same. Google already attempted manufacturing a device in the US, with the Nexus Q streaming media hub carrying the inscription “Designed and Manufactured in the USA” on its base. But you can’t really call that a success what with the delays and reworking Google announced back in July effectively meaning it’s a dead product.via DigiTimes
Facebook Twitter: @NeosKosmos Instagram The coalition government will present its finalized plan for cutting public spending by 11.5 billion euros over the next two years shortly before the troika returns next month, Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras said on Monday after talks with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, who will attempt to convince European leaders this week that Greece is committed to moving forward with its fiscal adjustment program.Kathimerini understands that the package of cuts presented to Samaras yesterday amounted to 13.5 billion euros, rather than the 11.5 billion demanded by the troika. This is because the Finance Ministry has calculated that once the pension and salary cuts are implemented along with the reductions to spending, tax revenues and social security contributions will fall by about 2 billion euros, leading to a new shortfall.Sources said the Labor Ministry put forward cuts worth 5.2 billion euros to pensions and welfare payments in order to be sure that it would secure savings of 4.6 billion. The reductions to pensions will affect those retirees who earn 800 euros or more per month but in a bid to save more money, the minimum number of years of work needed in order to qualify for the minimum pensions of 485 euros could also be increased. Currently 15 years’ worth of work is needed. This may rise to 20 years.Stournaras refused to be drawn on the issue of a labor reserve for civil servants, amid reports that 30,000 to 40,000 public sector employees would be removed from their posts and given up to 75 percent of their salaries for between one and three years. The finance minister suggested that the details of the scheme had not been finalized yet.Samaras will be hoping to present the measures as a sign of his government’s decisiveness to stick to the troika program when he meets Eurogroup chief Jean-Claude Juncker tomorrow, German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday and French President Francois Hollande on Saturday.Opinion in Germany on Greece’s future in the eurozone remains mixed. European Central Bank executive board member Joerg Asmussen said a Greek euro exit would be “manageable” but much more expensive than some people believe.Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos was able to gauge reaction in Berlin when he met there with his counterpart Guido Westerwelle on Monday. After the talks, Westerwelle said Greece needs to carry out the reforms that have already been agreed upon, but that “the German government wants us to remain together in the eurozone.”He pledged Germany’s help in implementing the reforms, but said “the key to success lies in Athens.”Source: Kathimerini

The ballots contain some other Game of Thrones nuggets. The Iron Throne, The Last of the Starks and The Long Night all appear in the directing category. Most of the fan complaints around the final season centered on the writing for the show rather than the directing. HBO also offered up Game of Thrones in categories ranging from art direction to costuming. The show gilded its already gaudy trophy case at the Emmy Awards in 2018 when it won for outstanding drama. Will it add another? Some fans might argue against it. HBO Game of Thrones fans had lots of complaints about the writing for the show’s final season, particularly the last two episodes. One of the scripts that fed a massive petition calling for a rewrite is now up for consideration for the Emmy television awards. The 2019 Emmy Awards nominating ballots arrived on Tuesday. HBO had six episodes to choose from, including the widely lauded A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, but it decided to submit the divisive finale episode The Iron Throne in the category for best writing. The ballots will be used to narrow down the submissions to the final nominees. Some fans weren’t thrilled at the choice, and posted various derisive GIFs and images in response, which goes to show hard feelings are still lingering. One showed a picture of Ted Danson from The Good Place with the caption, “Even metaphorically, it’s lame.” Another showed Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) cracking up.
